Haines Dolphins Swim Team Winter Games Invitational Swim Meet. Hosted by
the Haines Dolphins with events set to begin 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at the
Haines Pool.
January 19
Alcan 200 International Snowmachine Road Rally from Haines side of US/Canada Border
to Dezadeash in Yukon Territory and back to the Border. Oval Races following day. Attracts entries
from Canada and U.S. Fast and Furious and $2000 for first place! 37th Annual!

Annual Kluane to Chilkat International Bike Relay
The most beautiful ride in the world! Starts in Haines Junction,
Yukon Territory and ends in Haines, Alaska. Growing in popularity each
year to over 1,500 participants.
JULY
July 4 Independence Day Celebration Old time small town events:
Foot races, Chilkoot River raft race, Mt.Ripinsky Run, watermelon feed, mud volleyball, fire
hose battle, nail-pounding competition, Main Street parade, pie-eating contest, BBQ,
and fireworks highlight this multi-day celebration.
July 24 - 27 Southeast Alaska State Fair
Five fun filled days! Home arts, livestock exhibits, logging show, horse show,
live entertainment and food.
SEPTEMBER
September TBA Labor Day Weekend Mardi Grass Party Saturday evening at the
Fogcutter, Harbor and Pioneer Bars. Costume prizes, Cajun music, refreshments.
NOVEMBER
November TBA World's largest congregation of Bald Eagles gather along Chilkat
River to feed on a late run of Chum salmon. The Alaska
Bald Eagle Festival features naturalist guided tours into the preserve, speakers, photo
workshops,art exhibits, educational seminars and more.
DECEMBER
December 6 Community Christmas Celebration Letters to Santa,
Angel Trees, Cookie and Candy Contests, Pictures with Santa, Open Houses, Caroling, and a Parade.
